SBK believes that design exists on a spectrum, where each project has its own identity and unique aesthetic. Whether it’s through incorporating a cherished heirloom, consideration of architecture, reflecting the home’s location in the design, or a strategic melding of different styles (our favorite!), SBK will make your space feel unique and refreshed.
We will walk you through each important step of the design process, from concept and budgeting to project management and installation—and everything in between. Our goal is to make your experience with us as enjoyable and stress-free as possible (dare we say “fun”?), resulting in a space you’ll never want to leave.
KATIE BROMLEY, BIO
Katie’s love and fascination for design came out of true resourcefulness at an early age, including lazy summers spent with her grandmother in the Midwest, delighting in a collection of Southern Living. Studying the issues’ floor plans, redrawing them, and space planning using items from the magazine’s pages; this was the initial spark to her interest in design.
However, it wasn’t a straight shot into the field for Katie. Detours came in the way of other roles as journalist, book publicist, health care advocate, and—her most important role—mom to three children. Living in cities across North and Central America, Katie sharpened and strengthened her love of design. Upon returning to the Washington, DC area in 2021, she tapped into her early-rooted love of design and collected renovation and project management experience, to establish Spaces by Katie.
Katie is a 2025 candidate for Certification of Residential Interior Design at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, RI. She also earned both master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY.
